When a domain name expires, there's a time period of a little over eight weeks when it's not active, but can still be renewed by its current user. During this period, the domain cannot be taken by anybody else, but if it is not renewed, it goes into the so-called Pending Deletion period which lasts 5 days. This is the time when ICANN-accredited registrar companies accept backorders for these domain names. When a specific name is backordered, the registrar will make an attempt to register it for the customer the second it is deleted and accessible to the public, which gives people the option to acquire a short and easy to remember domain which may have been used by someone else up to now. In the event that the domain is quite appealing, several companies could try to register it in the same time and since this happens on a first-come, first-serve basis, there is no guarantee that a particular person will have that domain name. Nevertheless, using a backorder service will give you a better chance to acquire a particular domain than if you attempt to register it manually.

Domain Backorder in Semi-dedicated Servers

We've decided to include a domain name backorder service to the Hepsia Control Panel which is provided with all semi-dedicated server accounts, so you will not have to sign up for another platform. This service will allow you to register a domain and host it from a single place. All of the domain names scheduled to be erased in the following days will be placed in the Backorder section of Hepsia and you will be able to browse them in alphabetical order. To narrow the number, you will be able to search by a particular phrase, determine the minimum and maximum number of characters your domain name should contain, and choose a particular extension. You'll also be able to search through domain names by the exact date they'll be deleted. Since there is no 100% guarantee that we will be able to register a specific domain, in case our attempt is unsuccessful, the money for that domain will be available as a credit inside your account and will not be lost.

Domain Backorder in Dedicated Servers

A domain backorder section is available in the billing Control Panel of the dedicated servers that we provide since we are a certified registrar company. The service will enable you to discover good domain names without signing up for a different platform and you will be able to place an order with only a mouse click. All domain names that will be deleted in the coming days will be listed in that section and you shall be able to set numerous filters so as to narrow the list and browse only domains which interest you - minimum/maximum length, exact deletion date, extension, etc. In addition, you'll be able to browse only domain names that contain dictionary words or ones which contain a phrase that you insert, thus saving the time and efforts to browse through a lot of random names. If you order a particular domain and we can't register it, we'll credit your account and you won't lose your funds.
