InnoDB in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you create a new MySQL database through the Control Panel included with all our semi-dedicated server accounts and you begin installing a PHP-driven web app either manually or using our 1-click app installer, the database storage engine will be selected automatically on the basis of the specific app’s prerequisites. As InnoDB is present on the cloud platform where your new semi-dedicated hosting account will be created, it will be set as the default engine for any app that requires it without any manual intervention needed on your end at any point. To avoid any chance of losing data if you update an application or if you delete a database by accident, we will perform a backup of all your databases each day, so if anything happens, we can restore your content.
InnoDB in Dedicated Servers
All dedicated servers ordered with our custom-developed Hepsia hosting Control Panel come with a software package that’s pre-activated and among everything else, you will get the InnoDB database storage engine, so you will not need to add it manually in case you would like to use open-source scripts that need it. All it takes to activate such a script is to set up a new MySQL database and to start the setup – once the installer wizard acquires access to the database in question and begins inserting data into it, InnoDB will be set as the default MySQL engine for this database on the condition that it is the one needed by the particular script. You will also be able to activate scripts that require the other widely used MySQL engine, MyISAM, so you will not need to configure any settings on the dedicated server. This will permit you to use various scripts on one single physical machine and to use it to its fullest capacity.
